Chih-Chiang (Oliver) Hsieh: Lab/field technician

Oliver is our lab/field technician. He is the one who helps to build and the main person to operate our sampling systems, including the MPS, MVBS and sleds. Oliver is originally from Taiwan and has a master degree in Marine Chemistry from National Taiwan University. Besides his contribution in the sampling technics, he also does nutrient analysis for our samples. He is also a former middle school teacher when he was in Taiwan. He taught sciences, including earth sciences, biology, physics and chemistry.

謝志強是被我拖到夏威夷陪讀的，他其實是擁有師大地科與台大海研所學歷的高材生，因此柯恩教授就把他招攬到我們實驗室工作啦。他主要是幫我把採樣技術變成熟的人，我們的採樣雪橇、超強打水系統、中型採樣袋系統，都是他的成果。除了採樣技術上的支援以外，他在化學分析上也是很有貢獻，他可以幫我們精準的量測樣品中的營養鹽成份。還有還有，他出國前也有在苗栗教過兩年書喔，他都是跟學生打球混成一片的，他的學生都超愛他的，所以可以說是挺全才的一個傢伙。前一陣子，哈佛大學的教授還試著想要把他挖角過去呢。但你能想像，他大學可是考了三次才上師大耶，因此，他的例子告訴我們，考試沒考好不用氣餒，一個人能力夠強，最後還是會到該到的位子的。
