Alberto's expert is in sulfate reduction metabolic activity measurements. He uses radioactive sulfur-35 as a tracer to track down the process. He has helped us to design an build a state-of-art temperature block, which will allow us to incubate microbes living in the oceanic basalt fluids under pressure at a wide range of temperature. That will help us to understand how microbes respond to change in temperature.  

艾博特的專長是測量硫酸跟還原的速率進而瞭解環境中的硫酸根還原菌的活動情形，他使用的是硫-35放射性同位素的方法來追蹤與定量。他幫我們團隊設計並建立了一個可攜帶式的溫度梯度培養系統，可以同時在十種的溫度下培養樣品，以了解溫度對生物活動的影響。
